Rescue from the Seven Sisters, Chart1 Chart2
Today 33 students where caught by the rising tide at an East Sussex beauty spot called the Seven Sisters Cliff's, they had to be rescued by the coastguard from Newhaven and Eastbourne. When I heard the name of the cliff's I immediately thought of the Pleiades which are located at 29 degrees Taurus and decided to have a look at the chart as the news article mentioned the time they became stranded. Lo and behold when I cast the chart I found the moon in the 29th degree of Taurus conjunct the Pleiades or the 'Seven Sisters' as they are also known.
So the moon which rules the tides and beeches is in the last degree of Taurus and the tide is highest at 17:29 with the moon having reached zero degrees Gemini.
At the time the students became stranded the moon was separating from a quincunx of Pluto and applying to a sesquiiquadrate of Jupiter so the moon make no major aspects before leaving Taurus however the moon maintains the sesquiiquadrate to Jupiter during the whole episode, first applying and then seperating. The moon was also applying to Mercury and the Sun by sextile however it is also a dissociate square.
Although I don't have the time, the rescue almost certainly did not begin until the moon had entered Gemini and because of the large number of people involved did not complete until just before 19:00 hrs when the moon had reached the1st degree of Gemini and the applying sextile to Mercury by just over 1 degree.
Students are ruled by the 3rd house and there we have the ruler of the 3rd in Pisces at the lowest point in the chart (at the base of the sea cliff's) isolated with only a wide opposition to Mars indicating they are in some danger.
I am inclined to think these events are often reported as happening a bit later than they actually did and for that reason I suspect they may have been stranded about 16:12 around about the time the Descendant was as 29 Taurus and passing over the moon, and the IC was passing over Uranus.
Below are the charts for when they became stranded and for the completion of the rescue. The BBC article can be seen here.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7527933.stm
